Following the closure of the Women’s National Commission, the Government Equalities Office (GEO) has embarked upon developing a new approach to enable women and women’s organisations to interact more closely and directly with Government.

As part of this, GEO will be hosting a briefing event for UK NGOs on Wednesday 19 January prior to the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 55th Session. GEO will also be sending regular updates to its women partner organisations from late January, and publishing a dedicated web page as part of its engagement activity. There will also be an outreach programme and new opportunities to discuss key issues with Ministers across government.
